I was attempting to fix my friends computer which was infected with
the Sasser virus. The computer continually went into 'shutdown' mode
before I could get past square 1.
After some research, I learned you can prevent the shutdown by going
into Start/RUN and typing SHUTDOWN -A within 30(?) seconds of the
shutdown message.
It helped me prevent the shutdown so I could continue with the fix.
