XP Pro and Linux install

I want to load Centos Linux as a dual boot with my XP system.  Will
the installation option of Linux create separate partitions and allow
the dual boot? I have a backup of XP incase anything goes wrong.  I'd
use partition magic but I don't think that exists anymore.
