For the second time this year I have lost both my CD drives. The first time
it happened I put it in the shop. Now, suddenly, they are gone, again.
Hardware shows they are there and working properly yet they will neither
read disks nor write to them. I don't use them often so I have no idea
what
has gone wrong since the last time I used them.
Dell 800 mhz computer
Windows XP w/service pack 2
500 mb of RAM
160 gig hard drive
I have checked the connections and all is well. I even replaced the cable
to
no avail.
Can anyone suggest what I might do to fix this problem without putting it
back in the shop, please?
